A Fresh Start

I’m starting to get the garden prepared after a long winter. With the early February warmth, and the late March snow, the weeds got a head start and my own planting was stalled. But, it’s been a beautiful weekend and it’s really never too late to start when it comes to the garden.

I wish I had take a before picture, but just imagine that all of the new black mulch, and the open space on the right is completely filled with those purple flowers. They’re pretty, but they were starting to choke out the stuff that I planted last year. Thanks to a friend, I was able to start re-mulching the path and get a head start on cleaning up the whole area.

The next step is to finish weeding, then finish mulching the path, prep the garden beds, and finally plant my seedlings.
